Description
Badger is a daughter of Michael Gallagher’s Cap and Joe Haynes’ Keally. She has been a great partner and friend all of her life, and has had a wonderful career on the trial field. She exemplifies one of Laura’s favorite features of a good border collie: a real joy in partnering and a desire to please. Badger, a 9 year old dog, recently won the double lift final at Scio Oregon, and Laura is excited to run her for the first time at Soldier Hollow.
Laura and her husband live in Cottage Grove, Oregon where they raise commercial sheep, raise and train border collies, and host sheepdog related events. It’s hard work but they consider themselves very lucky to be able to do it. Laura has been working and participating in trials with border collies for over two decades and has served on the USBCHA Board of Directors. Besides pursuing her own interests in training dogs and competing, Laura has always given back to the sport in the ways through mentoring, teaching, hosting clinics and trials.
