Applegate, Suzy – BELLA

Description

Bella is full sister to Suzy’s Ben, also running here at Soldier Hollow.  Bella is owned by Jill Gustafson. Suzy has had her for about six months of the year.  She Suzy started training her, Suzy says “she never forgets a thing … she is an amazingly smart dog.” Bella placed 1st in the first go around at 2023 Nursery Finals in Colorado, and then had a very uncooperative ewe in her 2nd round. She has placed top 3 in almost every trial Suzy has run her in, and recently won the Trailing of The Sheep double lift last October, qualifying her for Soldier Hollow. Suzy looks forward to running her the rest of the year and at 2025 Finals in Alturas.

A breeder, trainer, and handler, Suzy is an important player in all facets of the sheepdog world. Suzy has been described as a formidable competitor and she qualified for this year’s Soldier Hollow Classic by winning the Trailing of the Sheep Championship. She is a two-time USBCHA National Nursery Champion, a Meeker Champion and a finalist in the USBCHA National Finals as well as here at Soldier Hollow. Suzy is also a respected Judge, having judged the National Finals on two occasions.
