Kristin starting training dogs when she was 16, starting with a Shetland Sheepdog who became her first farm dog and introduced her to the world of dog training. Kirstin “borrowed” her first border collie about 6 years later and got hooked on the breed. Kristin owns Versa Dog Sports in Layton Utah where she teaches puppy classes, obedience, rally, and agility. Kristin won the preliminaries at Meeker Classic SDT in 2018 with Pele’s mother, Spy, and she and Spy made the finals here last year — Spy’s final time competing. Kristin has several agility national wins with Spy’s mother, Tag, her sister Spec, and her son, Solo. You can watch Kristin and her agility dogs weave, jump, and run through tunnels in agility demonstrations here at Soldier Hollow. She also does the herding demonstrations here. When not working dogs, you can find Kristin hiking, bowling, kayaking, and dog sledding in my off time. You may have seen a video of a woman dog sledding through Ogden after a snow storm a few years ago…. that was Kristin.
