Marianna was introduced to Border Collies in 1999 by her mother, Nancy Schreeder. Marianna recalls saying to her friends that she would never trial her dogs and that she just wanted to work them on the farm. Fate had other plans. After starting her first border collie, Marianna was “hooked.” She had the benefit of working with one of her mother’s retired dogs and learned a lot by working with that dog. Marianna lives and trains her border collies just outside of Atlanta. She is the President of the Kentucky Border Collie Association which puts on the prestigious “Bluegrass Classic” in Lexington Kentucky. Marianna recently retired as Treasurer for the United States Border Collie Association, a position she held for over 10 years. In addition to these volunteer positions, she own a property management company that specializes in low-income housing apartments.
