Batz, Paul – MYA

Mya is described as a dog with a sense of humor — we’ll see if these sheep start laughing when she shows up behind them. 🙂

Paul is from the finger lakes area of New York and is running here at Soldier Hollow for the first time.

SKU: N/A Category:

Mya is a 4-year old, female Border Collie, bred by Amanda Milliken, who is running here at Soldier Hollow.  Paul notes that Mya has “the best sense of humor, never getting too serious.”  She is out of Mary Minor’s Hazel, who is also running here, and sired by Nichole Rhoades’ Bart.  Mya was Paul’s covid pup.  There were no trials to go to, no clinic’s — it was just Paul and Mya for that first year, making for an incredible bond.  Mya has a willingness to put her heart into anything Paul asks.

Paul lives in the finger lakes region of New York.  He started running USBCHA trials with two kelpies in 2016. Both made it to open.  With his border collies, Paul has been in the top ten in points for NEBCA for the last several years, Reserve Champion ’22 Fall Foliage Double life.  He was the  ’23 Fall Foliage Double Lift Champion, qualifying him to run her at Soldier Hollow, and he won the  NEBCA Long Road Award.  Paul and his partners own an equestrian center and he also keeps about 200 ewes on an adjacent farm.  He is a Cornell Graduate Farrier, specializing in Eventers and Dressage. Paul also  teach lessons and take in outside dogs for training.
