Description
To know Monster is to love him! Every day is Monster’s best day—he is the happiest dog Jamie thinks she has ever known. He is a force on the trial field and excels with difficult sheep; it seems the more challenging the sheep are, the more he shines. Off the field he is a big softy and Jamie adores him. She considers herself incredibly lucky to get to be his partner. Monster is the current Meeker Classic Champion and twice the winner of the Meeker Biggest Heart award. He will be traveling with Jamie to Scotland to represent Team USA in the World Trial this September. Monster is a 7-year-old male, USA bred out of Cy Peterson’s Clare by Joni Tietjen’s Ben.
Jamie Spring ranches in western South Dakota with her husband Lee and their two daughters, who are the fifth generation on the family ranch. They raise commercial beef cattle and fine-wool ewes on the expansive prairie, and Jamie’s dogs help with daily management of the ranch. She attended her first sheepdog trial in 2005, and while ranching and mom life don’t allow for much time to trial, she goes as often as she’s able. Jamie and her family also host an annual sheepdog trial at their ranch and love welcoming handlers from across the U.S. and Canada. She is the current Meeker Classic Champion and will have the enormous honor of representing Team USA at the World Trial this September in Scotland.
