Nan is a 5 -year-old black and white female border collie whose demeanor and old soul eyes give her a much more mature look than her actual age. She is and always has been a “no-nonsense” type of dog both in her work and at rest. She is all about work. Last year was her first open runs where she proved she had what it takes to be an open dog. Some of Nan’s favorite things are sheep, long walks through the orchards nearby, food (hers and anyone else’s that she can find), and cats. Dianne is looking forward to seeing what she brings to the competition at Soldier Hollow
Dianne Deal has been competing for over 25 years. Like many others who now run border collies, Dianne was also a successful horse trainer and competitor. Now still riding and climbing mountains, the Border Collies are her focus. Dianne runs about 35 ewes for breeding—Perendales, Scotties, and Kerry Hills. Dianne was the 2022 Soldier Hollow Silver Medalist and is returning here with two younger dogs. Dianne offers clinics, individual instruction, and custom training, and she often has puppies and started dogs available for sale.
