Description
Mist is a 5-year-old tri-colored rough coat and the daughter of Scott’s Canadian Champion Tim and granddaughter of ABCA Hall of Fame female Alice—true sheepdog royalty. Despite being a notorious challenge, Mist became USBCHA reserve national champion at just 2 years old and competed at the 2023 World Trial in Ireland. She has won multiple open trials and has won a round at the prestigious Meeker Championship, winning their Cowboy Lift Award, presented to the dog with the best lift on that day. Although Mist and Scott are known for having opposing opinions on the trial field, when they are at home, they are the best of friends and you’ll find her on the couch watching TV with Scott or sleeping on the floor right next to his head every night.
Scott Glen grew up on a cattle ranch in Southern Alberta, Canada. When he decided to branch out to sheep farming and headed to a fair for a sheep shearing demo, he got distracted by a sheepdog herding demonstration—and the rest is history. For over 35 years, Scott has been professionally training dogs at his kennel, Alta-Pete Stockdogs, which has produced multiple National Finals winners.
His record speaks for itself: 7-time USBCHA National Champion, 6-time Canadian Champion, and 6-time Soldier Hollow winner. He’s won the coveted Best International Shed trophy an unprecedented 10 times and has represented Canada at the World Trials multiple times, placing 3rd in Ireland in 2023—the highest-ever finish by a North American handler. Scott is currently the Canadian Team Captain and a Hall of Fame member of the American Border Collie Handler’s Association, along with his legendary dog Alice a previous winner of the Solider Hollow Classic.
