Zamora, Karen – BRAD

Description

Brad will just be turning 10 as he and Karen ready for Soldier Hollow. Karen imported him from the UK and it took him a long time to get used to our western sheep. Karen notes that, because he was trained differently than what she used to, she didn’t appreciate how good he was for a long time.  He is a very kind dog, the sheep like him, and he is great with other dogs and people. He is very sweet but sometimes “a bit dorky.” If he doesn’t  understand something, he can gets a bit weird and Karen kind of  panics. She was staying at a motel and had to take him in the room because it was cold.  She tried to put him in a soft crate but he couldn’t figure out what it was and kept jumping on top of it.  He flattened the crate; ended up tied to a chair for the night and did fine.

Karen started with horses, riding everything from trick horses, racehorses, hunter jumpers and now settling in with competitive reining horses. She started with sheepdogs about twelve years ago when her pet border collie needed a job, and one thing led to another . . . and another.  She is a recently retired emergency room doctor, a job she did for over thirty years.  Now she has more time for even more dogs and horses.  Karen lives in Plain City, Utah during the summer and Alamo, Nevada in the winter.
