Gunner is a stylish 5-year-old male with unbelievable heart and a deep focus on his handler. He is a constant companion who is always by Steve’s side. He loves to ride in any vehicle as long as they are together—he is truly a bright light and a pleasure to call a partner. Gunner is home-bred, raised, and trained on their farm. His dam is from Wales and his sire is from Canada; both currently reside on their farm.
Steve Davies is based near Grande Prairie, Alberta. He began training stock dogs over 25 years ago and competed for three years before taking a 15-year hiatus to focus on his career and family. He returned to the competition ring eight years ago. After 20 years of operating an oilfield construction business, Steve recently semi-retired. They run a working farm with full-blood Dorpers and mixed wool sheep, and have recently expanded into cattle. Steve’s dogs are home-bred, raised, trained, and proven on their farm. Outside of training, Steve enjoys hunting and fishing in remote locations. He has hunted above the Arctic Circle and internationally, and has completed his North American Grand Slam for sheep. His achievements include 2024 ASDA Alberta Open Field Champion, 2023 USBCHA Finals Rookie of the Year, 2023 Western Canadian Nursery Champion, 2025 & 2018 Western Canadian Reserve Nursery Champion, 2021 5th Place CBCA Championship, and Double Lift Winner.
