Description
Jill is an 8-year-old female from Laura Hicks. She is the same way bred by pedigree as Joe’s Pepper, sired by Spring Court bred to Spring Jess. Jill is a very friendly dog who loves people. She has been running in open for 4 years now and has placed well in the majority of trials she has run at.
Joe is a busy fellow with a farm and a busy family. Juggling sleep, his son’s lacrosse or basketball, a 9-5 job and dogs can be a challenge, but Joe says he wouldn’t change anything. He’s had some great trialing, winning overalls at some prominent trials, including his Gold Medal here at Soldier Hollow in 2021. Joe has been involved in sheepdog competitions since getting his first Border Collie puppy from Laura Vishoot over 20 years ago. He won Soldier Hollow with Pepper in 2021; won the Canadian National with Jim in 2023, was Reserve High Combined winner of the Sonoma Wine Country Sheepdog Trials and won Overall Champion at Rio Vista Sheepdog Trial with Jill in 2024. The Haynes raise North Country Cheviots and his wife, Heather, who also breeds Pembroke Welsh Corgis that have excelled in conformation, in obedience, agility, BarnHunt, lure coursing and herding as well. Joe also keeps busy as the Director for Facilities and Engineering for biotech companies. Joe lives in Arlington, Washington.
