Judd, Loreli – DOVE

Description

Dove is a 5-year-old tri-colored female bred by Loreli out of her Trigger and Mary Miller’s Rhett. Dove is all business when it comes to working sheep—at just 7 weeks old, she turned onto sheep and didn’t want to quit even when all her siblings were done. Very small in stature, Dove has never been afraid of anything. She qualified for nursery in 2023 and ran quite well at the Finals. She moved up to open just before the 2023 Meeker Classic, finishing 3rd on Friday and qualifying for the semi-finals, where she placed 16th.

Loreli lives in Coalville, Utah and has raised sheep for over 30 years, currently running a flock of Dorper sheep. She got her first Border Collie 25 years ago and came to Soldier Hollow in 2007, where she became hooked on trialing. Since then, she has trained numerous dogs for both sheepdog competitors and sheep ranchers, qualifying several dogs in nursery for the National Finals. Her great dog Sally qualified in open several times, scoring high enough to run in the semi-finals at Carbondale and twice at Meeker, finishing 13th one year. Loreli was a dog groomer for more than 30 years but has now retired to be a full-time Grandma (and dog trainer).
