Slash J Edge is a 4-year-old male out of Sky and IMP Jim. Edge was bred and trained by Joni Tietjen and is owned by Lerrina Collins and trialed by Louanne. He was the 2023 USBCHA National Nursery Champion with Joni and is also a well-accomplished cattle dog. This is the first year of Edge and Louanne competing together. What Louanne has always loved about Edge is his willingness to work with her and listen. He has an amazing feel for sheep and a quiet way of asking them to move. Edge is one of the happiest dogs she’s ever had—he loves life and loves people. The other important thing to know about Edge? He is incredibly handsome!
Louanne Twa lives west of Calgary, Alberta, Canada near Millarville and has been training and competing with Border Collies since 2005. A two-time Soldier Hollow Finalist (2016 & 2018), she has competed at the USBCHA National Finals for many years. She’s a two-time Calgary Stampede Reserve Champion (2012 & 2025), Reserve Canadian Nursery Champion, and placed 5th at the 2025 Hill Top Double Lift Finals, along with many open wins and placings. A full-time dog trainer and ranch manager, Louanne has a handful of sheep to train dogs on and does custom grazing of 200 head of yearling ewes during the summer months. Her side hustle is working on TV and films around Alberta, supplying animals and working her sheepdogs on sets for productions including Heartland, Back to the Frontier (Magnolia Network), The Last of Us, and Hell on Wheels.
