Description
Jim is a 4½-year-old border collie at the very beginning of his trialing career, one of the youngest dogs competing this year. His brother and sister were nursery champion and reserve champion at the National Finals last year. Bryan didn’t run him in nursery but a couple times last year because he felt like pushing him to qualify would be a mistake with him. His patience is paying off. Jim is one of the friendliest dogs Bryan has ever had—he loves everyone so he will be ready to meet his sponsor.
Bryan White has been trialing and training for about 15 years with great success around the country, making every major double lift multiple times. Bryan also enjoys teaching other people with their dogs and finds it very fulfilling—he gets very excited to see folks he has helped have success. Before entering the sheepdog world, Bryan was a serious surfer and was always near the ocean. He rescued a dog that was part border collie, and someone told him it was a herding dog and that he ought to see if it had any instinct. Not having really any idea what it was all about, he had an instinct test and became intrigued. He bought his first border collie, Scoop, off the internet and was fortunate to get a good dog right from the start. He was hooked, and the rest is history… and a big change from surfing.
