Description
Mona is a 4-year old border collie from Clearmont, Wyoming. She has nice feel, is fast and responsive, great spotter of sheep at a distance. She is a good partner, listens well, and enjoys work. 2023 was Mona’s first full year in Open. Although Fernando does not trial that much, Mona ran at Meeker Sheepdog Classic (Fernando’s first time ever running there) and finished in 20th in the preliminary round out of 133 dogs, which earned a chance to run in the Semi-Finals, finishing in 14th. At the 2022 USBCHA Nursery Finals, she finished in 7th place out of 68 Nursery dogs. Mona loves to be around people and show off her famous “mustache” — people have nicknamed her “Mustache Mona!”
Fernando moved to the USA from Brazil in 2013 and started really competing here in 2015. He now lives in Arlington Washington with his wife and dogs. Fernando has been in the double lift final of the USBCHA National Finals Double 4 times. Fernando also offers training and teaching opportunities.
